Open it in Mapsource and view the tracks, open the track properties then view the individual waypoints. You can open the file for editing in notepad or something similarly simple and view about 1000 track points like this :. That gpx file shows about 7 tracks or 7 parts of a track in Japan around Tokyo. This is causing enormous amount of frustration for me.ĭoes anyone here know of any other simpler method to try to sort out this mess? Can someone care to try out my method and then compare to the GPX file that I'm going to attach and see if you guys can find it so that I can use that time from the gpx file and compare it to the timing of the file? GPS Visualizer also shows multiple tracks and I have no idea where it's getting that from. Yet, I still can't find the coordinates through the GPX file. I tried using GPS Visualizer to display the track and it does show me going to a place with that name. The building that I'm using as a reference point is called the Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower. Japanese isn't my native language and trying to use Google Maps to resolve it has been very difficult. I had no success and got overwhelmed by the number of points. I'll use that as a reference point and then compare the timing of the location with the picture and then see the time difference. I figure that one way to try to resolve it is to find the gps coordinates from the GPX file for a picture that I recognize. Either the Garmin 60CSX didn't record it or I might have forgotten to turn on the GPS. However, when I opened up the gpx file with G7toWin, I can't seem to figure out what had happened. I think it's possible that I might have incorrectly set the time on my camera. Upon closer inspections, I'm sure they're off and I'm not sure what had happened. When I loaded up the geotagged images on to Google Earth, they appear off. After I finished geotagging the files using the gpx file that my Garmin 60CSX produce, something doesn't seem right. So I'm trying to geotag some of my files from a trip to Tokyo, Japan in 2009. I've spent about an hour trying to figure this out without any success.
